We know that in September, we will wander through the warm winds of summer’s wreckage. We will welcome summer’s ghost. ~Heny Rollins

We had a fun day at the “Boyscout Lake” as we call it which is a small mineral pond by Boykin Springs. My daughter was thrilled that she was able to transport the boat in her truck. She said, “I love when my truck works!” They had a blast paddling around, playing in the water, and just being silly kids. My girl even caught a perch with her hands! Hubby and I just set back and took it all in, enjoying the beauty of nature and the joy in our children. It won’t be long before these sweet days are gone and they all move on with their busy lives. My goal long ago was for my family to always have days like these to capture and look back on and smile.

Fall is our favorite time of year! We enjoyed a bike ride at our local state park. Getting out and getting exercise on a cool fall day is the best! I absolutely love taking pictures of mushrooms and the park was full of fairy rings!

Riding bikes at our local campgrounds are way harder than riding at the state park, the hills are HARD but we managed to make it, I had to walk my bike a little up the biggest hills but even if I am walking it is still exercising!

I was not sure about “wasting” a larger canvas attempting to paint something but I was very pleased that I did. Just goes to show that even if you think you can’t do well, sometimes you just might surprise yourself. I am really digging my “Summer Elephants” painting on a 16×20 canvas.

My dad turned 82 this year and really didn’t want a party. We told him he is having one so he needs to let us know what exactly he wants for his party. To be ornery he said he wanted 82 candles! Well, he got his 82 candles and his grands enjoyed lighting them up for him! Once the smoke cleared we had a happy 82-year-old!

For something different, we have been playing board games lately with our youngest son. He was thrilled when he beat me at chess and Chinese checkers was a fun challenge that hubby won the first round and I won the second! And Scrabble is not our sons favorite game but at least he gave it a go, I think it seems too much like school!
Life is short so just enjoy every moment you have and make the best out of it!
Peace, love, joy, and blessings,
Becky
