March 2019
It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.~ Charles Dickens

So, confession time, Hi, my name is Becky, and I am addicted to Fallout 4. I play it to find some peace in my life, an escape. I tend to play it A LOT! So, Adam decided I would like a little more tangibility in my fantasy world. He would take the Fallout 4 action figure of the sentry bot and make a diorama of the “wasteland” for me and so we positioned it in front of my game on the TV, it blended in quite well!
We decided to go to a car show that we saw listed on Facebook events. It was at Ray’s drive in a local diner so we met Anna there when she got off work, she ate while we waited for the cars to show up. Apparently, the car show was just 6 car owners getting together to chat because it was a pretty sad turnout and so we didn’t really do much but drive by as we left the diner.

Texas Independence Day!
We went to Washington on the Brazos to join in on their annual celebration but it was rainy, cold, and windy so it was a pretty awful weather day to be outdoors at an event. We did wander the handcrafted wares booths looking at all the neat things people had made, checked out the gift shop and caught the last part of the declaration “signing” lecture.

Monster Truck Show!!
We had a blast at the Mechanical Mayhem show at the expo! We had trucks rolling over, blowing up their motors, catching their tires on fire, and blowing out tires. “Don’t worry folks, it’s all part of the show!” Adam now has decided he wants a monster truck! It was so nice to get out with my little family and just enjoy ourselves!
March 10th
Anna met her friend from work and they had a blast at the small carnival that was in town! Carnivals are officially her favorite thing to go to lately!
March 16th
My nephew is getting married so we went to their wedding shower! They got a lot of great stuff and I got to visit with one of my favorite people on the planet, Susan!

Now that the weather is getting nice again we are trying to get back into exercising to lose the rest of this weight! We went and biked Caney Creek. It is a 3-mile round trip ride and has one really rough hill to get up. I made it one way without having to get off and walk my bike, that was pretty good considering how much muscle mass I have lost since surgery. I did have to walk it, someone, the way back but every little bit counts.

Anna made other plans and Adam didn’t feel like biking so hubby and I ventured out on a hiking and biking trip just the two of us. I always worry if our adventures will die out as the kids move on with their own lives as adults. Honestly, it has been a real fear of mine for a while now but then days like this happen and I get to see what the future holds.
We had a really nice time, it was pleasant and peaceful and I really enjoy just spending time with the love of my life. We got to the one angled tree the kids ALWAYS climbed when they were with us and I mentioned something about the kids not being there, so my silly husband attempts to climb it so that our hike would not be incomplete for me. It proved harder than he thought but laughing at him did help me not be bummed that the kids weren’t along this time. Sure, we usually laugh more at their antics when they are there but we can have our own antics too. We are having to relearn how to just be regular people instead of only parents, it is scary at times but also exciting. We talked about what kinds of things we could so once he retires, hosting at State Parks is a real option and we could have adventures every day if we wanted! As long as I have this guy by my side, I know I will be ok, where ever life takes us!
Peace, love, joy, and blessings,
Becky
