If you have an issue with these views feel free to skip over that particular material or the first few units that will discuss those views and move on down the timeline to a time period with less controversy. Thanks!

Baby Blue Jay

Backyard Ornithology – The Study of Birds

One of the best ways to homeschool science is to simply watch the world around you and learn!

I was outside giving my three big dogs a much needed bath when my son brings me a baby blue jay who had presumably fell from its nest.  He had it in a cage already with a pan of water. In his mind it was his new pet.

I told him to just put it on the porch out of the reach of the dogs while I finished up my chore and cleaned up. I knew I needed to intervene of this little Baby Blue would not survive in human care!

I may use resources that talk about “The Big Bang Theory.” I simply explain to my kids the timing is off and what the word “theory” means. I find no problem with this because I believe that God said, “Let there be light!” and *BANG* there was light! The “bang” that evolutionists believe in, came after the spoken word of GOD!

Our Reluctant Driver

My oldest son never really cared to drive. He was not one of these kids who was chomping at the bit to get behind the wheel. He often told us, “I have no place to be that y’all aren’t going.” While this was a bit of a blessing, no nagging for the keys or for a car, it also became a problem.
