My Calling and Purpose

An awesome post from my son, Austin of the blog
“Canvassing Creation”

Canvassing Creation

I remember as a young boy of four or five, standing up to my grandfather who had dumped a bucket of tadpoles onto the ground to kill them, believing they were mosquito larvae. I was sad for the tadpoles and very angry at him. I even said a few angry words to him, although my mother scolded me I felt I had to speak my mind.

That is my earliest memory of defending the creatures I love.

To My Twin Brother

To My Twin Brother
October 12th, 2012

At 8:42 A.M. October 12, 1974 at the Shelby Co. General Hospital in Center, Texas, I was born. A few minutes ahead of my arrival, my twin brother was born… stillborn. My mother and I was still in the hospital when my twin was laid to rest in Dickerson Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. on October 13, 1974; I was one day old.

A Sign and a Mark…

I was studying the other day about the “mark of the beast” and came across some web sites that talked about what the “sign” of GOD was. One that I thought was really interesting was called The Antichrist Truth. Now first, I want to say I do not agree with everything posted in their sight, but it was the site that led me to looking into the Bible and comparing the sign vs. mark scriptures. The following is some what how my study went. CONTINUE READING…

The Eagle!

March 3, 2011

We went to the lake to fly a kite. We drove around a bit to find a good private spot without campers. People were everywhere because it was spring break weekend. I was just about ready to give up, totally frustrated when, against my “better” judgment, Stewart decided to take this little “pig trail” of a road. It looked more like a four-wheeler trail but the Tahoe fit down it so he took it. We ended up at a good private location with a nice sandy beach. As soon as we got out of the car, “Hunny look! An eagle!” Stewart calls out. Sure enough a beautiful eagle landed at the shore where we were. Such a rare and awesome treat GOD blessed us with. Immediately scriptures start flooding my head with references to eagles.

The Last Valentine’s Cookies

February 12, 2011

Well once again a holiday rolls around where gifts are given amongst the family. Honestly at this point I am not real big about the secular holidays personally between Stewart and I but I thought that the kids would enjoy Valentines Day. I mean, it is about a “saint” and all, right? So we begin making cookies to decorate for the cousins. I am sick of commercialization of everything so I wanted to go hand made. 2011-2-12 cookies (4) We get busy rolling out our dough. CONTINUE READING…
