The Day’s Events:
The photo was taken 6/2/2018 I sure got cute kids!
- Emotions:
- Stewart:
- Becky: I would have to say emotionally I am scared of what life will be like after the surgery. Will I miss being fat since I have been my whole life? Will my personality change? The coordinator said it is possible to an extent. I don’t want to be different unless it is better. I have to say I am stressing pretty good about this and a bit spooked. I just want to be thinner and healthier and able to do more things, I do not want to change who I am.

So I blew it today. I ate my snacking weakness, Turtle Minis then we went to Cheddars Café to eat. I busted my calorie intake easily then I ended up wanting to snack all evening as well. I think certain foods make you crave more or maybe it is because I am fighting a cold and eating is soothing (emotionally and it scrapes the back of my throat.)
He has been struggling with wanting to eat everything all the time as well. We get to this point in the diet and are sick of the limited variety of things we can eat. It gets frustrating.
Exercise:
He tried to exercise in the pool as well but said his legs were hurting from a fall he took the day before.
I tried to make up for some of the excess calories I ate by walking and swimming around our pool for 30 minutes.

The Day’s Events: We went to see our doctor for our one-month check-in. We both had gained a few pounds from our records but to the docs records I had, lost 8 and hubby like 20. We went over my blood work, of course, I forgot to get my copy of it so I will have to fill y’all in on that later. But I am low key diabetic and something going on with my liver that he is supposed to get me an appointment to get that checked out, I just hope it isn’t something that would cause me to not get the surgery. Our psych evaluation was moved to today as well, excited to get it out of the way but was stressing to make it from one appointment to the other. The psych doc saw us both at the same time the appointment lasted about an hour and a half. He asked about what kinds of things cause us to eat badly and what our stress triggers were. He gave us suggestions on how to manage stress so we would be better equipped to handle it post surgery. He really made me feel like he was mainly wanting to offer assistance to get us through the surgery emotionally healthy. I was concerned these pre-op appointments were mostly trying to find a way to disqualify us but it really isn’t. They seem naturally wanting to help us through it all so we have the best possible outcome.

- Becky: Doc gave me some antibiotics for what he says is a sinus infection. But in all the rush, I forgot to get the script filled. Guess I will suffer all weekend.
Food Choices:
Funny story, after we left the psych doc we stopped by a local dinner (Mom’s Diner) and ordered a burger for lunch. The next thing I know the doctor we just left walked in the same diner and sat at a table behind me! He didn’t notice us so when he went to the bathroom we snuck to a table farther away and scarfed our food and snuck out before we were caught red-handed being bad!

The Day’s Events: My daughter’s graduation party so we did not eat well at all. There were the best cupcakes I have ever eaten (maybe because I hadn’t had any in a long time but I was awful and ate 3.

The Day’s Events: Went to IHOP… again ate badly. Honestly, this whole week was just really bad for eating and no exercise. I have had a cold all week and eating helps my throat feel better. A sad excuse I suppose but I felt bad and didn’t care. I will get back on the wagon this coming week… maybe after the cupcakes are all gone…
