I am going to cowgirl up and just get it done, I want to get this behind us and move forward and find some kind of “new normal” to settle in too.

Feeling:

    • Stewart: So angry and mad that the hospital tried to charge us so much and that we almost had to cancel after all our hard work. And now I am worried that they will give us poor care because they didn’t get what they wanted.
    • Becky:  I had a busy day today cleaning and prepping so everything is done when we go to the hospital. When we went in to pre-register today was a chaotic mess. Thinking our deductible was already met we get told that we have to pay a total of $4000 up front to have surgery because it was “elective” (which it is NOT) and we had to have it in two days. Well, we don’t have that kind of money just growing on trees outback especially since we were told our deductible was met so we get up and say oh well, no surgery for us. Upset and overwhelmed and disappointed and hubby’s blood pressure through the roof, we call our surgeon’s coordinator, Shirley, and leave a message telling her we can’t do it and head home which is 30 minutes away. Hubby was like, “Screw it, let’s go out to eat since we can’t have surgery.” But I was like, “No, not until we have exhausted all of our options and are absolutely sure we can not have surgery in two days!” Well, thank God we didn’t give in to anger and temptation because then my daughter texts when we are almost home saying we keep getting a call (6 times) from some number she doesn’t know so she didn’t answer the phone. Come to find out it is the hospital, our lady at the surgeon called and fussed at the hospital and got them lined out so now they are wanting us to only pay $350 each. We agree, reschedule to finish the pre-registration stuff tomorrow which puts my husband in a bind to try to make the 2:30 appointment after work! Nothing but unneeded stress! We talk to the Shirley again and she said we shouldn’t have to pay anything so maybe she will call again tomorrow and line them out some more.

Day Thirteen, August 15th:

      • Breakfast:
        • Unjury “Chocolate Splendor” Protein Shake  (21g protein)
      • Lunch: Unjury Chicken Soup (21g proteins)
      • Supper: Chocolate Gladiator “Smoothie King” (45g protein)
      • Snack: Light & Fit Greek Yogurt (12g protein) Yoplait Greek Vanilla (15g protein)
      • Guilty snack:

Total Proteins: 126

Feeling:

    • Stewart: I’m anxious to have the surgery behind me and start recovering.
    • Becky: We went back and finished all the pre-op stuff, EKG & blood work, paid them their money and are ready to go. Now, I am a ball of nerves and I swear my stomach knows it’s hours are numbered because I am so hungry!!! I really just wish we were a month or so past this or just not doing it at all because I hate the very idea of suffering to any degree. We are all packed and ready to go, getting up at 4:30am to be at the hospital at 6 or hubby to go and I go in at 9. I hate not having my hubby by my side while I wait because I am usually a mess of anxiety.

Becky’s Thoughts on the week:

I went through an entire roller coaster of emotions this week. I was feeling like I finally was excepting doing this surgery and was almost looking forward to it, then the upset with almost backing out due to finances, and now I am really hesitant about doing this being that it is tomorrow. My husband and I made an agreement, “You jump I jump” so I guess we are going to go through with it in spite of my apprehensions and fears. I only pray all goes well and I don’t regret this decision. And I hope I am not hungry for a while because right now I seriously want to eat everything I have ever loved.

Till Next time…

Peace, Love, & Blessings,

Becky
