How We Celebrate the Feast of Trumpets!

The old testament commands a list of sacrificial offering to be given on this day but like I discussed in my earlier posts Keeping the Feast Days of the Bible & What is the Feast of Trumpets, there is no need for a blood sacrifice because Yeshua (Jesus) paid that price once and for all. And the Bible has no set of rules on HOW to celebrate the feast days since Messiah’s arrival over 2000 years ago. With no rules you have freedom to “keep the feast” pretty much however you feel draws you closer to God on His appointed days!

“Free Fishing Day” Fun

It was the official “Free Fishing Day” in Texas and we were determined to get in on some of that action.

It took us a while to find a nice quiet place to try to get our hooks wet. We drove around for an hour, the places that weren’t already packed, were flooded by the recent abundance of rain Texas has received.

Our “let’s look one last place” turned out to be the impassable road leading to our favorite camping spot.

Free Fishing Day

We had only planned to perch fish anyway, so this place was as good as any for that! And the best part, there were no other folks trying to crowd in on the action. Thank God, because the five of us crowding in to fish down a one lane road was bad enough!

Biking “Dead Roads”

Last time, we hiked our newly found “Dead Road”… today we decided to bike it to where another road is suppose to intersect with it and lead to a small pond. We hoped to check out the pond and maybe find a new place to primitive camp out in the middle of the national forest.

We figured biking to it to check it out would be a lot faster and on bikes we could go a lot farther than on foot…

“Flip a Coin” Road Trip (and Roll the Dice)

With all the heavy rains the last couple weeks here in Deep East Texas, we decided hiking this weekend, was probably not a great idea. We couldn’t think of any trails that would be accessible and not a muddy mucky mess! So we decided to go for a drive!

As always, the question arises, “Where do you want to go?” The solution was easy… flip a coin!

Alphabet Photo Scavenger Hunt “In Nature”

My family loves to hike and take nature walks on the weekends! We go so often that we know all the local trails forward and backwards, and honestly, it can get a bit mundane to just keep walking the same “ol’” trail each time, especially for kids. So we like to liven it up a bit with games! And as homeschoolers, games always turn into learning opportunities!

This time, we decided to have an Alphabet Scavenger Hunt “In Nature” using our Cameras !

Not only does this liven up the nature hikes, it is a fun and adventurous way for little ones to get exercise, learn to appreciate God’s creation, practice their phonics, photography and computer skills!
