Hanukkah

Hanukkah

Hanukkah is a victory celebration about a small group of Jews called the Maccabees who stood strong against assimilation and conquered the Greek army who tried to force them into it!!

Though I am not Jewish, I celebrate this holiday. We believers in Messiah are also pushed and shoved into having to accept “beliefs” by the people who live around us, they want us to be politically correct instead of Biblically correct… I wonder sometimes, if we stood up for our beliefs as much as the Maccabees did, if we could see a large scale change and bring America back to God!

It is truly an inspiring story and a great time to refocus our resolve and “rededicate our Temple” back to God!!

1 Corinthians 3:16-17
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

The Historical occurrence of Hanukkah can be found in the Bible Apocrypha… You can read it here: 1 Maccabees 2 Maccabees
