Homeschool Burnout

It is sad to say but…
I have lost my zeal for homeschooling. I have been going through the motions lately but not pouring myself into the children’s education like I did when they were little. Back then, homeschooling was still fresh and new for me and I was still excited about it all. After a few years of schooling, many moms tend to have homeschool burn-out. It is where you lose you drive and passion for it. You are tired and mentally exhausted and attempt to “push through” and the kids are bored and and disinterested tend to “push back.”
I have been stuck in “burn out” mode for too long. I struggle with depression and health issues ever since my “medically induced menopause.” During that time, we got “behind” in schooling and we never seemed to recover. But something has to be done…

A Day at the Lake

June 7th of this year was “Free Fishing Day” in Texas. This means we could fish any Texas waters for one day only without a fishing license! Of course, we had to load up the rods, paddle boat, picnic basket, & the family and headed out to the lake with my sister and brother in law!!
It was an absolutely beautiful day on Lake Sam Rayburn!!

Looking Back at 2013–Part 4
Around two years ago I stopped blogging. Living life seemed to get in the way of blogging about it. For a little while, I tried to play catch up and managed to get a half of 2012 blogged but it was lacking the luster of blogging about current events. I hate the idea of having “time gaps” on my blog so I will play catch up with one blog each year, hitting the highlights for 2012 and 2013 rather than blogging each event.
