Same destination, different paths…
“This may offend some people but it needs to be said… “
This is how my Facebook status started… I have noticed when I add new people to my Facebook and once they discover I believe differently from them, they take it upon themselves to try to “bring me back to the faith” or rather bring me back to THEIR faith. It’s OK really, I understand, you see when I was “spiritually immature” I did the same thing.

… so I continued writing my status with the following…
Our Reluctant Driver
My oldest son never really cared to drive. He was not one of these kids who was chomping at the bit to get behind the wheel. He often told us, “I have no place to be that y’all aren’t going.” While this was a bit of a blessing, no nagging for the keys or for a car, it also became a problem.

“Free Fishing Day” Fun
It was the official “Free Fishing Day” in Texas and we were determined to get in on some of that action.
It took us a while to find a nice quiet place to try to get our hooks wet. We drove around for an hour, the places that weren’t already packed, were flooded by the recent abundance of rain Texas has received.
Our “let’s look one last place” turned out to be the impassable road leading to our favorite camping spot.

We had only planned to perch fish anyway, so this place was as good as any for that! And the best part, there were no other folks trying to crowd in on the action. Thank God, because the five of us crowding in to fish down a one lane road was bad enough!

Mosquito Control
This has been one of the rainiest springs in East Texas that I can remember! (Thanks El Nino) With all this lovely rain, out comes the mosquitoes!! I swear some of these blood sucking parasites are the size of pterodactyls so you do not want to mess around with these guys at all!!

Mosquitoes makes it pretty miserable just to be outside. The kids come in with whelps from playing and doing yard work while swatting bugs is very annoying. Besides, the poor animals are being attacked as well, which can cause heart worms in your pets. So I wanted to post about the several ways you can reduce the number of mosquitoes in your yard, since that is what is “bugging” me lately!
To Homeschool Through Summer or Not
To Homeschool Through Summer or Not… that is the question.
I was in the big middle of a blog post about how we proudly don’t comply with public school schedules and how wonderful it was to school all year long taking off a week or two here and there when ever we wanted too, when it happened…
