A Day on the Farm
Sunday we slept in, well I say we slept in, I had been up really early with my daughter and her new puppy, a little Bassett Hound pup. He is a cute little thing, but like any newborn, he needs to eat, play, and be taken “out” often and not always when it’s convenient (like at 5 AM on a Sunday when I would rather be sleeping.) But I am proud of my daughter, she is taking it in stride and showing great responsibility with him!
But after we had finished tending to him, I went back to bed and slept late. It was nice not to have any place to be today!

We had been without goats since our last one was killed by our donkey (who now lives elsewhere.) We decided to buy a pair from a homeschool lady we know. These little babies had to be bottle fed but we wanted that because if you bottle feed them then they are much more tame, they think you are momma!
Such sweet little things! We named the girl (left) Cali and the boy (right) Oreo. Cali was born on Purim this year and I had thought about naming her Esther but decided against it.

Now that I have my little Cactus Bed in my front yard I had not taken the time to just sit and enjoy our little oasis. I glanced out my front door and saw two beautiful young Cardinals feeding on the seeds that had been knocked out of the swing feeder above the cactus bed. I grabbed my camera and carefully opened the door to get a picture or two.
We had to fence the cactus bed to keep Kelev out of it so he would not chew our plants. ~~~ CONTINUE READING…~~~

Good Dog

Our Australian Shepherd, Kelev (Hebrew for “dog”) has become quite the little man. Today was his first time at barking at strangers. My in-laws came over and Kelev gave a hardy bay at them alerting us that they was in the yard. I am very proud of him.
You will often hear me telling him “Kelev Tov” which means “Good Dog” in Hebrew. ~~~ CONTINUE READING…~~~
