My Calling and Purpose
An awesome post from my son, Austin of the blog
“Canvassing Creation”
I remember as a young boy of four or five, standing up to my grandfather who had dumped a bucket of tadpoles onto the ground to kill them, believing they were mosquito larvae. I was sad for the tadpoles and very angry at him. I even said a few angry words to him, although my mother scolded me I felt I had to speak my mind.
“Tadpole Crossing”
That is my earliest memory of defending the creatures I love.

Monoculture Farming and the Sabbatical Year
I was reading articles the other day and came across an article from Natural News called “Almost everyone is deficient and you can die without it: Potassium”
The first line of the article says:
“Due to the poor monoculture farming practices of Big Ag, most of the topsoil for plant based foods has been depleted of key minerals over the past 100 years.”
I had no idea what “monoculture farming” was so I looked it up!
Wikipedia says:
“Monoculture is the agricultural practice of producing or growing a single crop or plant species over a wide area and for a large number of consecutive years.”
Notice how unhealthy the soil looks!
The first thing that popped into my head was, “You know, I bet that is why God commanded to let the land have a Sabbath every seven years!”
Looking Back at 2013–Part 4
Around two years ago I stopped blogging. Living life seemed to get in the way of blogging about it. For a little while, I tried to play catch up and managed to get a half of 2012 blogged but it was lacking the luster of blogging about current events. I hate the idea of having “time gaps” on my blog so I will play catch up with one blog each year, hitting the highlights for 2012 and 2013 rather than blogging each event.
So here is “Looking Back at 2013! The LAST one!
